219 The Treasures of the First Ancestor

nunnery, she couldn't help but feel melancholy due to Wen’s situation."Ah Li, if it were you, you wouldn't be like Senior Sister-in-law, right" After a long while, Mo Xiuyao asked in a deep voice.Ye L...219. High Ancestor's Treasure Chart

Just as he entered Shen Yang’s courtyard, he heard intense arguing inside. It didn’t sound like the usual fights between Shen Yang and Doctor Lin over trivial matters, but rather vicious insults, contemptuous mockery that even Ye Li standing at the door couldn't help twitching her lips.

Without entering the house, the two people who were once as hostile as fire and water now stood united against a common enemy. Shen Yang sat to one side leisurely sipping tea, looking like an elegant scholar. Doctor Lin was also drinking tea by his side, completely ignoring the others present. ZHUO Jing could only kindly advise the two gentlemen, "The Prince Consort has invited you both to examine this person." Doctor Lin snorted and glanced sideways at ZHUO Jing, saying coldly, "I don’t remember ever saying that I would follow your Prince Consort’s orders unconditionally She says give an examination so it must be given" Shen Yang smiled and said, “Although the writer has received the stipend from the Dingwang Mansion, as a self-respecting divine physician, he will never treat for his peers.” These words clearly appealed to Doctor Lin.

Doctor Lin nodded repeatedly, "Speaking of which, I used to have a nickname in the江湖 when I was still at least thirty years old. It was called 'See Death Not Save'. Meaning that… those who should not die are not saved, and those who deserve death even less so!" Doctor Lin’s reputation was established decades ago, older than everyone present, so no one bothered to question whether his words were true or false but clearly stated their stance.

The Sick Bookworm coughed uncontrollably, whether from anger or serious injury. When he finally caught a breath, he pulled Cold Flowing Moon aside and said, "Second Sister, let's leave." His gaze, like poison, swept over Shen Yang and Doctor Lin as he planned to return once his injuries healed to poison these two ancient pests to death. Shen Yang and Doctor Lin naturally saw the Sick Bookworm’s intent look.

However, if it was anyone else, they might fear the Sick Bookworm's deadly poisons and complex toxins. But these two were among the top physicians of their time; unless the Sick Bookworm genuinely had the ability to concoct ancient lost poisons, there weren't many that could intimidate them.

Cold Flowing Moon differed from the Sick Bookworm. She was also familiar with Shen Yang's reputation as a place where all kinds of eccentric characters gathered. Cold Flowing Moon naturally understood that capable people usually had unusual temperaments, so she looked at him coolly and said, "Third Brother is being rude, please forgive these two doctors." When Ye Li heard this, she realized it was likely the Sick Bookworm who had provoked them first. After all, Shen Yang and Doctor Lin may argue daily but never with anyone else; they certainly wouldn’t deliberately make things difficult for someone seeking medical help, especially when that person was brought by her.

Seeing this, Ye Li didn't rush in to stop the argument anymore, leaning against the wall thinking about how Mo Xiuyao and Ling Tiehan’s friendship went beyond ordinary ties. It would likely be impossible to kill the Sick Bookworm; she had to find an opportunity to teach him a lesson.

"Second Sister, you don’t need to beg these two old men!" said the Sick Bookworm disdainfully. "With their limited abilities, they can't even come up with a prescription—what medical skill do they have"

"Silence!" Cold Flowing Moon frowned and sternly rebuked him, "Say another word and I'll have my brother lock you in the dungeon forever." The Sick Bookworm was startled, looking at the elegant, cold black-clad woman with a hint of dejection.

Over there, Doctor Lin chuckled and looked at the Sick Bookworm disdainfully, saying, "As if that prescription is something you concocted yourself." Shen Yang knew about the ancient formula for the Forget-Me-Not Flower, but his books only contained half a page of an incomplete thousand-year-old recipe. The handwriting was different, many names changed, and it made little sense. Unless he had obtained the complete ancient formula, Shen Yang didn't believe that this strange youth could figure out the prescription by himself.

The Sick Bookworm coldly smiled and shut up. So what if the prescription wasn’t his If he happened to get a complete ancient formula, that's how he wins. These people want to know the ancient formula; they can only ask him

Mr. Shen, Master, what's going on here Seeing that the inside had quieted down a bit after Ye Li came out and looked at the tense crowd with a smile, she asked. Zhuo Jing walked up to give Ye Li a brief account of the situation. This sick scholar was indeed in need of a beating. It seemed he couldn't vent his anger earlier during dinner, so he took it all out on Mr Shen and Dr Lin instead. However, who were these two people that could be easily provoked A string of harsh words left the sick scholar looking like he was about to spit blood. Mr Shen smiled but didn’t say anything, while Dr Lin wasn't as polite. He snorted and said, "Where did you find such a venomous patient One who doesn’t even know they're dying." Ye Li raised an eyebrow slightly, glancing at the sick scholar and Leng Liuyue. The sick scholar always looked sickly to her, so it made sense that he still appeared sick after being hit by Mo Xiuyao’s palm. It was hard to tell if he was about to die. However, Leng Liuyue frowned slightly as she glanced at her brother worriedly and said, "My younger brother doesn't know what's happening and has offended these two scholars. Please spare his life."

Dr Lin squinted at Leng Liuyue and said, "This girl of yours is more honest than that girl over there. However, this boy… Hmph, he’s clearly in need of a good beating to teach him a lesson. It would be better if you just killed him with one palm." Old Dr Lin was still sore about Ye Li's deception back then and she could only苦笑無奈. Leng Liuyue was well-known as an assassin in the江湖. Was her master’s eyesight failing

Leng Liuyue looked solemn, but she seemed more helpless when looking at the twisted expression on the sick scholar's face. "My brother and I were raised together from a young age. My younger brother not knowing any better is my fault as his elder sister. Please forgive us." With that, Leng Liuyue bowed deeply to the two men. As she said, the three siblings really did grow up together.

When they first met, Ling Tihan was only twelve years old while she herself was nine, and her youngest brother was just five. Three orphaned children wandering in the江湖had suffered unimaginable hardships; later when they were taken into the閻王閣, only two or three out of ten children could survive. It was all due to Ling Tihan's protection that they survived those harsh training conditions. Her younger brother had the worst talent for martial arts, but she and her elder brother went through great lengths to help him stay alive during those cruel training sessions. But in places unknown to Leng Liuyue, nobody could understand how he grew up with such a personality.

Yet no matter what, he never did anything that would betray his older brother or sister; he was also always willing to listen when the two of them spoke to him.

"Elder Sister!" The sick scholar glared at Leng Liuyue as her face paled. Since their trio took over the閻王閣, had she ever been so humble in front of others But now he was making her act like this; it felt like he was an eternally immature younger brother.

"Mr Shen, Master." Ye Li said gently to Ling Tihan and His Royal Highness. "Grandmaster Ling and the Prince have some history together. I hope you two can be a bit more accommodating." Mr Shen gave Ye Li a glance and said with a smile that wasn’t quite sincere, "Old Dr Lin didn't lie. If this boy continues to cause trouble like this, even the碧落花won't save his life. Do you really think that the碧落花is such a miraculous medicine that as long as there's still half a breath left in him, he'll be jumping around happily" The Prince Consort also shouldn’t expect any medicines from his hand either. I can tell you're not living for yourself anymore and might want to commit suicide with His Royal Highness." Upon hearing this, the sick scholar’s face changed slightly as he turned pale but said nothing. Ye Li watched him silently and wondered if Mo Xiuyao had a deep enmity with this guy. After some thought, she said, "No matter what, Grandmaster Ling will still be staying in璃城for a while. We should give him some respect." Please do us a favor, Mr Shen and Master. Besides… Ye Li smiled slightly and said softly, “Didn’t Mr Shen say that after treating His Royal Highness’s illness for so long, you haven't seen any interesting cases Well, how about this one”

Upon hearing this, Mr Shen’s eyes lit up. Although the sick scholar's condition was completely different from His Royal Highness's poison, there were still some aspects where they could be studied together. Of course, he couldn’t use Mo Xiuyao as a test subject, so… would he let him examine

Ye Li didn't say these words in front of Leng Liuyue and the sick scholar; before the sick scholar could reply, Leng Liuyue replied first, "Mr Shen can rest assured. I guarantee that he’ll follow your instructions obediently."

The sick scholar wanted to object but ultimately remained silent. Ye Li looked at him with a smile on her lips and blinked her eyes; it seemed she had figured out how to deal with this annoying person.

The trio from King's Pavilion settled down in the Ding王府. With Ling Tiehan and Leng Liuyue around, Ye Li didn't have to worry about Scholar of Sickness causing any trouble. However, she still instructed Mo Hua to station an additional twenty Shadow Guards in the main courtyard for safety measures. Qin Feng also spontaneously allocated four elite soldiers from Qilin to guard the main courtyard, ready to kill anyone who dared approach it. After all, while others might not matter as much, Mo Xiaobao was merely a helpless infant in a cradle and thus required extra caution.

Martial arts contest Upon hearing what Mo Xiuyao said, Ye Li frowned slightly. She put down the baby she was holding who had big eyes darting around curiously. Why would Lord Ling of King's Pavilion want to have a martial arts contest

Mo Xiuyao set his teacup aside and pulled Ye Li into his arms with a smile, "Don't worry, A-li. Ling Tiehan isn’t an idiot; he wouldn't cause mutual destruction in the event that they compete. Such actions would only harm him. Although Ding王府 is being watched by various factions, the truth of the matter is that with Mo Army backing him up, it's rare for me to be needed on the battlefield when things get serious. I may not necessarily be the number one martial artist in the world but as long as I'm alive, I remain the Duke of Ding and Mo Army remains under my command. However, King’s Pavilion is different; it's a killer organization with countless enemies in both the江湖and the royal court. If not for Ling Tiehan's unparalleled martial arts skills, they wouldn't have been able to maintain stability for so long. Once Ling Tiehan and I are weakened from our battle, their enemies will surely launch an attack on King’s Pavilion." Ye Li leaned against Mo Xiuyao as she pondered over who might be behind the request for Ling Tiehan to act against him. Prince of Southern Zhen

Mo Xiuyao shook his head and said, "No, it's unlikely that it was Lei Zhenting. He’s a proud man; after drawing even with me in our battle, he wouldn't seek help from others to fight me. If I were defeated by someone else, would it not imply that as the Prince of Southern Zhen, he is inferior to both his father and myself Ye Li lowered her head in thought, finding some validity in his reasoning. She pondered for a moment before saying solemnly, "Tan Jizhi!" It couldn't be Mo Jingqi; if it were him, he would directly demand the death of Mo Xiuyao rather than challenging him to a contest. Only Tan Jizhi fits this scenario. He's currently in Northwest China and if Mo Xiuyao sustains severe injuries, everything Tan Jizhi wants to do in Northwest will be much easier. With a low chuckle, Mo Xiuyao remarked, "It seems that Tan Jizhi hasn't given up on the treasure his ancestors left behind." There was no faulting Ye Li for wanting to laugh; it was simply because the previous dynasty’s founding emperor had been too cruel. He built such an enormous imperial tomb and gave future generations hope of finding treasures within, only for them to discover that what they sought wasn't real. Even Ye Li would have cursed him in her heart. She could almost imagine how ridiculous the founding emperor looked when he was holding up a fake Imperial Seal and grinning like a lecherous old man.

Mo Xiuyao nodded, "I remember you told me before that there were clues inside the imperial tomb" When Mo Xiuyao had returned from his mission, Ye Li had been all he could think about. Later on, as she needed to rest for her pregnancy and then take care of Mo Xiaobao, he hadn't given much thought to what she mentioned regarding the imperial tomb. He didn’t have any interest in the Imperial Seal or previous emperors' treasures; his Mo Army would survive without them. Ye Li recalled this matter, stood up from where she was sitting on Mo Xiuyao and walked over to a hidden compartment near by to retrieve the piece of yellow silk that had been brought out of the imperial tomb. Mo Xiuyao took the silk and couldn’t help but twitch his mouth at seeing such an arrogant and nasty inscription immediately upon opening it. He looked at Ye Li questioningly, "Is there something wrong with this"

Ye Li nodded, sat down next to him, and carefully laid out the yellow silk on the table. The silk had remained in good condition after being inside the tomb for several hundred years before being brought outside. Not only did it not deteriorate but its color hadn’t faded either. Ye Li pointed at the silver threads woven into the corner of the fabric with strange characters, and said with a smile, "The real map to the treasure is here." The edges of the yellow silk were lined in silver threads forming cryptic symbols that looked like normal patterns such as祥clouds and waves if not closely inspected. Ye Li inwardly smiled; the founding emperor's cursive handwriting was truly magnificent.

Mo Xiuyao scrutinized the silk for a while before frowning, "This should be some kind of language. I remember that sometimes in books from previous dynasty where the High Ancestor had personally annotated, there were occasional odd symbols like this. But usually only a few of them and they are often overlooked as casual markings. However, here on this piece of silk alone, there are at least over a hundred such symbols neatly woven." Mo Xiuyao was naturally intelligent and could deduce that it must be some kind of language unknown to them.

Ye Li nodded with a smile, "Indeed, this is a language. I'll fetch the ink and brush," Ye Li said as she took the pen and ink from beside her seat while nonchalantly grinding the ink. Mo Xiuyao was silent for a moment before asking, "Do you recognize this language" Ye Li smiled and nodded, raising her head to look at him and said, "Yes, I know this language. It's an extremely Western one, even farther than the western countries. However, I won't tell you why I know it." The room was quiet for a while as Ye Li began writing down the translation of the characters on the silk without caring about Mo Xiuyao’s grinding ink. After a long moment, Mo Xiuyao suddenly pulled her back into his arms from behind. She paused with her pen but didn’t turn to look at him and only heard him whisper lowly, "There was once a rumor that the founding emperor of previous dynasty had not died but vanished without a trace. So no one could find his tomb or remains. A-li, are you like that"

Upon hearing this, Ye Li couldn’t help but chuckle softly and put down her pen to turn back to look at him with a serious expression. She kissed the corner of his lips lightly before saying with a low laugh, "Do you know where the founding emperor came from" Mo Xiuyao shook his head, the founding emperor was born in chaos, like he had appeared out of nowhere. No one knew about his past or family, not even his parents. His life and death were just as mysterious as his early years, making him one of history's most enigmatic emperors. Ye Li smiled and asked, "Then do you know where I come from and which family

Mou Xiuyao deeply gazed at the smiling girl before him. Indeed, his Aili was different from that emperor. Aili was the daughter of the Ye family, and her birth mother came from the Xu family in Yunzhou. Ye Li sighed softly and leaned closer to him with a gentle smile: "My relatives, my husband, and my child are all here; where else could I go" Mou Xiuyao tightly held Ye Li's waist and pressed his forehead against hers, saying softly: "Aili, if you leave me, I'll throw Mo Xiaobao onto the streets to be a beggar." Ye Li was speechless and raised her hand to pinch his handsome cheek. The medicine given by Dr. Lin had remarkable effects; even after several months, one could hardly see any scars when looking at them closely. She pinched Mou Xiuyao's handsome face hard and said: "How many times have you used the baby as a threat against me I told you not to joke about it. He is still young and doesn't understand now, but he will be hurt in the future if he hears what you say."

Mou Xiuyao pulled away from Ye Li's hand which had turned his face slightly red and glared at Mo Xiaobao who was cooing happily in the cradle. Aili actually pinched him because of this little brat, so naturally, he would hold this against Mo Xiaobao. Thus, even as an infant, Mo Xiaobao started to take the blame.

"Aili..." Mou Xiuyao held Ye Li and buried his face in her hair, his voice sounding somewhat muffled and low.

Ye Li helplessly rolled her eyes; a man with such a fragile heart could not be hurt. She gently patted Mou Xiuyao's shoulder: "Alright, I promise I won't leave you. Be good now. Don't you want to see the translation"

No interest. Mou Xiuyao muttered gloomily; he hated that former Emperor Gaoguang who had been his ancestor. If one is going to die, then do it thoroughly and don't leave behind any treasure maps for others to find.

Then what do you want Ye Li quietly drew in a breath and decided that if Mou Xiuyao continued to act foolishly, she would kick him out. He suddenly picked her up and walked towards the bed behind the screen: "I'm tired; come rest with me."

In a blink of an eye, Ye Li had been pinned down on the bed, unable to stop herself from rolling her eyes at the mosquito net above her: "Mou Xiuyao, can you be any more childish" Not giving her a chance to argue or speak, intense flames immediately engulfed them as they lay entwined...
